Ontario Mills opened on November 14, 1996, on the former location of the Ontario Motor Speedway. The shopping destination was built as a single-level mall spanning 1,421,863 square feet—California's largest outlet and value retail shopping destination. On its opening day alone, the mall drew over 150,000 visitors and generated $7 million in sales, establishing itself immediately as a regional shopping powerhouse.

The mall features distinctive ten neighborhoods designed to help shoppers navigate the sprawling single-level layout. At its peak, Ontario Mills housed over 200 stores and 20 anchor tenants, making it one of the top shopping and tourist destinations in California. Simon Property Group has managed the property since 2007 and currently owns 50 percent, with JPMorgan Chase holding the other half.

The mall's consistent draw of millions of visitors annually reflects Ontario's importance as a regional employment and commerce center. Families throughout the county work in retail, management, logistics, and service roles connected to this economic hub. Protecting household income through life insurance ensures that working members' families are provided for, regardless of unexpected circumstances.
